Hi Stephen,
It is my pleasure to respond, as my readers make all this fun and enjoyable. I don't go into watch stores very often because I hate speaking with most, but not all, sales people who work there. Most are arrogent and ignorant at the same time. A deadly combo!

Good Morning,

Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly, you truly are a lucky guy, I envy you! I'm a real watch geek, I frequenty visit a very large watch retailer in New York whenever possible, and speak to many of the sales personel! Sales personel, being the key phrase, and find very few who realy know, or care about what realy goes into the craftmanship of these pieces of art! Maybe I'm expecting to much, but it seems to me, if you're going to "sell" a product for a living, you should know the difference between the escapement wheel and the rotor! Its frustrating! I'm rambling, anyway, thanks for the web site, I'll check it out!

Best regards,

Hi Stephen,
Nice to hear from you. All the watches that have "review" articles are personally reviewed by me of course. I don't get to handle all the watch I write about, but I try to check out as many as I can. As for the ones I do get to play with, I go to special events or am invited by the brands to check out their wares. Sometimes they send me the watches for review as well.
I measured my wrist once. It was 7 point something inches in circumference. Not at all big. So you never have to worry about watches looking too large.
As for the Edox, it is a predicament as they are not sold in with any frequency. I recommend going to their site, using their contact sheet, and telling them where you are and that you want one of the watches. Hope that helps and thanks for the compliments.

Hi,

I've been an avid reader of your blog for quite some time now, I love your work. I have several questions for you, one, how do you get to play with all these great watches before they are available to the pubic-lucky guy? Two, what size wrist do you have as a "scale" comparison for size of a time piece? Three, You ran a story, and some photos on the new Edox Grand Ocean series of watches, I'm both excited and frustrated, do to the inability to locate and purchase the "Grand Ocean chronograph. I love the rose-black combination, and the fact it has the new ETA Valgranges movement. Do you know where someone in New York, on Long Island can purchase one?

Best regards,
Keep up the great work!

Fun watch, but would need to try it on myself to actually give the model thumps up/down. The press photos sure promise a cool looking watch. BTW, I was surprised to learn that the owner of Perrelet is the owner of Festina, Jaguar etc. I had the impression that Perrelet was independent...but I was wrong.
