Hi Mat,
Thanks for the comment. I think I mentioned how the caseback was from a chonograph watch (which the Supermarine 500 was not of course). I wanted to give people an idea of the Bremont aviation theme. Though it is good for you to clarify these points. Thanks!

Great blog. Really like the SM500. But a minor point. That rotor shot is from the EP120 - the limited edition watch launched last year, which contains part of the EP120 Spitfire. I don't think the Supermarine 500 has a sapphire caseback - although there are no pictures on the Bremont site. Rather, the caseback will have a Supermarine B6 Schneider Trophy Seaplane stamped on it.

Also worth noting is that this and other new models will have an ‘Anti-Shock’ movement mount to
help protect the movement against large shocks. The movement is also housed inside an Anti-Magnetic faraday cage to protect the balance, balance spring and escapement from any effects of magnetisation.

Sorry, doesn't tickle my "I like it"-button. Maybe Bremont should stick to avaiation inspired watches?

Jim,
I don't have the exact measurements in sight, but typically the chronograph version of a watch is 1-3mm thicker. Other times the same exact case is used (to save on production costs) and the non chronograph movement just takes up less space. Thanks for reading.

Anyone know how thick the Bremont BC-S2 measures. The Bremont chronos measure 16mm, but the BC line does not list thickness anywhere. Thank you!

The rotor is of course weighted, but you'd have to look underneath the watch to see that. Lots of "trick" rotor like that have been made over the years. The weight is just hidden from view.

I like the turquoise color... Overall a fairly nice watch. I wonder about the rotor, though - isn't the whole point of a rotor to be asymetrical in weight, so that it turns with gravity, and winds the watch? With three equidistant "hands", I wonder whether there will be problems self-winding this watch.

Hey Jason,
Thanks for the comment. At first the dial of the Bremont Supermarine wasn't totally to my liking as well, but after a while I started to appreciate it. It may just be the turquoise colors that sorta bug you. Give it a little while and then come back for a decision.
